Putting It All Together

Upon opening the box you may wonder “how do I put this together?” Luckily, the pack comes with a manual that fully explains how to put the Star Adventurer together.

There are number of good bloggers on YouTube who explain how to put the Star Adventurer together and give further advice on how you can improve your experience with the Star Adventurer.

I can recommend the following:

  • Peter Zelinka
  • Nico Carver
  • Kamil Pekala
  • Sarah Maths.

This is not a conclusive list, there are many more on YouTube. Just type in the search bar of YouTube ‘Star Adventurer’ and you should be presented with a multitude of choices, but these were the ones I watched when I first started using my Star Adventurer.

Conclusion

I have used my Star Adventurer about three years now. It took me around a day to put it together and, understand how it works.

It is a very versatile piece of equipment. It tracks well up to five minute exposures. I personally, have not gone longer but others tell me that it does very good for ten minutes. Using this exposure length is only good for deep sky or nebula photography. I have found it better to do more shorter length exposure’s at around two to three minute long.

When you start to use your Star Adventurer more you will find that you will need more equipment. One of the first important items to get is a strong sturdy mount. Nothing is more annoying that have your equipment shake in the wind, or collapse because it is not strong enough to hold your equipment. Sky-Watcher offer a very sturdy mount designed for the Star Adventurer and is the one I use.

Sky-Watcher equipment can be purchased at various astronomical outlets. Such as Amazon and 365Astronomy.

I'am an amateur astronomer living in the UK. I have over 60 years experience in the amateur field. Initially I learnt the constellations by eyesight then moving on to binoculars and telescopes. I have now moved into doing astrophotography.

The experience of capturing nebulae and tracking galaxies was nothing short of magical. Trust me, this versatile tool is  awesome for every astronomer out there. Have a good one.

    1. Hey Jake,

Thanks for your input. I wasn’t sure if I was being too technical or not. I’ve got to set up some links between different posts, some posts are yet to be written. So plenty to keep me busy.

      Thanks

      Dave
